Maggie Chok

Communication Design Lead

As a Design Lead, Maggie uses design thinking and human-centered design practices to uncover latent needs, distill complexity, and identify opportunities for design to be a catalyst that uplifts and empowers.

Prior to joining IDEO.org, Maggie worked at the for-profit global consultancy, IDEO, designing for the transportation, healthcare, education, and consumer product sectors. During her time at IDEO, Maggie learned the value of uplifting both team members and client partners, how to be guided by empathy, how to prototype to fail quickly, what optimism means as a practice, and why it’s essential to embrace ambiguity when both the process and the outcome are yet to be determined.

Maggie holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication Design from Emily Carry University in Vancouver, Canada. As an avid explorer of spaces, places, and sounds, she enjoys climbing sand dunes at sunrise, scuba diving caves and shipwrecks, long train rides through unknown lands, and unusual experiences in film and music.
